Visit the Woodyard
We are a well stocked woodyard with structural stock, boules, packs and boards in our yard and purpose built heated sheds.
We have our own drying facilities and a dual production timber machining workshop for production for cut to size, PAR, moulding profiles and planing, thicknessing and sanding here at Cocking Sawmills.
You are welcome to our yard to select timber from stock by appointment. Please call 01730816941 or email us to arrange a day and time for a visit.
We want you to have a fruitful visit, to be able to provide you with the stock you need in a clear, safe space for picking and to have someone nearby if you need an extra pair of hands or if you have questions.
It’s important to us that we’ve checked this service is available for you, and if you’re travelling a long way then it’s even more important.
If you need something urgently or you want to browse boards then The Timber Rack might be the best place to start.
Please do get in touch before you come so we can be suitably prepared.

We’re a working woodyard with constant vehicle movements, working machinery and busy people.
Safety is our No.1 priority.
When you visit our woodyard, PLEASE ensure you are wearing appropriate* clothing & footwear. We insist you sign in at reception and wear the ubiquitous hi-viz vest which we’ll provide if you don’t have on on you.
We do have portable toilet facilities in the yard and we have an outdoor washbasin for cleaning hands on your way in and out. Julie also provides sanitiser, and we have fresh masks if you’d like to use them.
*What is appropriate?
Clothing: clothing that covers you up, ideally from the neck down but forearms & shins can be exposed in really hot weather.
Footwar: whole foot must be covered. Workboots are best, and steel toe caps get you gold stars:)
