Beech is pale Brown/pink with some reddish heart, streaking & occasional spalting. Fine, even grain, not durable but heavy and mechanically strong. Large moisture movement possible. Can be difficult to machine and binds on saw. Can be glued, stained, polished and is permeable to treatment.
