Our most frequently asked Coronovirus questions…

During this difficult and challenging time we’re adhering to government advice* on operating, which means our woodyard is closed and our machines are still. Most of our team are furloughed but we do have a small crew – Tom, Ian, Chris & Sarah – who are working remotely.

We’ve also been quiet on our favourite social media platforms and haven’t sent any emails out to faithful subscribers. Instead we’ve been taking the time to reflect, problem solve and do some serious future-planning.

We know from calls and emails that you have many questions so we want to answer the most common ones for you here…

Let’s start with…

Q. Are you open?

A. Well, our woodyard is closed but our phone line is open so you can call us during normal office hours (8am-4pm) and of course you can email us as our email inbox is open 24/7!

Q. Can we get advice, a quote or place an order?

A. Of course! Call, email or use our online quote form and we’ll happily give you a price and any advice you need.

Anything you want to order will be actioned as soon as the woodyard is running again.

Plus we have lots of information on our website about our products and you can search and select from our stock live.

Q.What’s the turnaround time on orders & delivery?

At the moment it’s difficult to say.
Production came to a halt when we closed on the 24th March.

We’re going with the government guidelines and have furloughed most of our team. Until we have staff back at the woodyard we can’t resume production.

Once the woodyard workshop is back up and running orders are likely to take longer than usual. We’ll have a reduced team and a coronavirus influenced way of working so we can only guestimate at this point but here goes…

  • 2-3 week lead time on picking lists & boards to make
  • 3-4 week lead time for cts & machining
  • 4-6 week lead time for homegrown fresh sawn cladding & structural timber
  • on fresh sawn timber that coming from France we honestly can’t say but because we work with a dedicated mill there as soon as the French restrictions allow, the mill will be producing and we will be transporting fresh sawn oak again.

Q. How can we buy timber without coming to the woodyard?

At the moment we’re able to do your quotes and take your orders remotely. You can use our website for buying timber online and for getting quotes on cutting lists. We have an enormous stock to select from, and that includes structural timber, so we should have no problem fulfilling orders.
