Does your teahut have a floor like this?

Spread the love

I just couldn’t wait to show you all this floor that Philip has prepared for the cabin from our downgraded Ash & American Walnut stocks.

In these pictures he’s laid it out to see how it goes together… pretty amazingly well I’d say!

I think he’s gone for a TGV profile.. speedily and expertly machined on our new Weinig 6 side moulder…

And we didn’t even select for so-called defects because we love our wood warts and all…  but if this is what downgrade looks like…

What species would you mix together to make a floor?

They’re going to have to have a teahut warming party aren’t they? Mmmmm a woodburner would be ideal… but I think they’ll have to make do with good old fashioned electric radiators I’m afraid.. I think the smell of woodsmoke wafting through the yard, although lovely, might have us constantly running around checking for fire!

Can you believe he wanted lino instead of this gorgeous wood? Hmmm I don’t know if Philip or Peter will agree to him taking his boots off though…!!

Wow, what a floor for a Tea Hut! The boys will be drinking their brews in real luxury soon! I look forward to seeing photo’s of the finished article.

I had a quick chat with Philip and Peter, about their new Tea Hut, when I was up there the other day. Heating seemed to be the ‘hot’ topic! They seemed to think that the insurers would frown on a woodburner?!
