Meet Inglis Hall…
Inglis Hall create kitchens made to order, made for living. They also create freestanding furniture, surfaces and spaces for other rooms. Everything they produce is designed and handmade from scratch in their workshop in East Sussex.
With more than three decades of experience, Toby Hall has a hands-on approach to his role as Head of Production, overseeing the manufacture of every project that comes to the Inglis Hall team. Working alongside Head of Design Peter Spence, whose eye for detail ensures each new piece leaves the workshop as beautiful as the last, Inglis Hall balances traditional cabinet making with contemporary design.
The dynamic team of young enthusiasts and experienced hands use tried and tested techniques along with modern technologies, finding innovative ways to blend good old fashioned craftsmanship and current aesthetics. This unique way of working means they’re unshackled by convention – and although their standards are rigorous, the team is always willing to explore new methods and processes.
Durability and timeless design are embedded into every project Inglis Hall takes on. Every kitchen they build is designed to last, to be durable and to without losing its beauty as the years roll forwards. As Toby puts it:
“We give a lifetime guarantee. My lifetime. I like to think we’re making the antiques of the future. We’ve always got that in mind when we’re creating something.”
A kitchen project in Winchester saw English Woodlands Timber’s gorgeous english walnut used throughout, in particular for the large island, where it was veneered for longevity, and paired with a stainless steel worktop. Accessorising with a walnut butcher’s block, the owners couldn’t resist cladding the children’s sleeping loft and ladder in english oak.
With sustainability in mind, the kitchens Inglis Hall build are made to last a lifetime, using timber from sustainable sources – which is where we come in.
The first thing Toby and Peter likes to do is have a conversation. They like to show off their gorgeous workshop and showroom, to give people an idea of how they work and what they make, and to discover what the ingredients of a successful project might look like. They understand that this differs from client to client.
English Woodlands Timber is delighted to work with Inglis Hall to supply oak for their Laine’s Collection of solid furniture, from dining chairs to 10-seater kitchen tables. Our oak was also used for the kitchen of an elegant Victorian house in Lewes, which needed timber that was both beautiful and practical for the central band island, set off by a stunning three-meter single board dining table – also made from English oak.
Everything Inglis Hall produces comes with a lifetime guarantee.
